Our profound knowledge of leather
Established in 1949, we have since continued family traditions of leather craftsmanship. From the applications of old-fashion tanning know-how to the adoption of modern leather technology.
Beam House

Re-Tanning
Wet-blue skins are then re-tanned inside special drums. This part of the process gives the leather more mechanical resistance and uniformity, but also softness, elasticity and lightness.
Finishing
Finishing determines the appearance of the final surface of the leather and the surface properties This includes coloring, waterproofing, wax dressings, and other mechanical processing.

Soaking
Preserved hides are soaked in water to rehydrate them, making them pliable and ready for the subsequent steps. This process helps remove dirt, blood, and salt.
Liming
Hides are treated with lime and other chemicals to remove hair, epidermal tissues, and residual fats. This step also loosens the fibers and prepares the hides for tanning.
Fleshing and Splitting
Mechanical processes are used to remove excess tissue and fat, resulting in a cleaner surface. Hides might also be split into layers to create different thicknesses of leather.
